Regardless of a drought, recycled water will be available because DWA will be purifying wastewater that is generated by our own community. In past droughts, parks, golf courses and other landscaped areas have had their water usage dramatically reduced or cut altogether due to insufficient supply. Customers using recycled water for their irrigation systems will not incur these issues.
Recycled water is cost-effective. The customers who will be using the recycled water for their irrigation will pay less than the cost of regular water.
Recycled water is good for our environment. Its use helps maintain water supplies in our underground basin. Reusing our water instead of disposing it is the most efficient use of our most important resource.
Since our drinking water supply is limited, finding ways to conserve our supply is critical. By using recycled water for irrigation, we can conserve our precious drinking water supply while providing a reliable, growing, and drought-proof source of irrigation water. |
