Early communication between the developer and our engineering department may be one of the most important first steps for any project planned within Desert Water Agency's 325-square mile service area.
Developers can save large amounts of time and money by contacting the Desert Water Agency's Engineering Department to set up an early planning meeting. Requirements tailored to each project will be reviewed from the very first contact.
Early project planning provides developers with district-specific rules, regulations and ordinances before costly engineering or architectural mistakes are made.
Early planning also gives developers a chance to build more water-efficient projects before site and landscaping plans are completed. Larger projects in specific locations may even have access to recycled water for landscaping.
Our Engineering Department's "Developer Requirements Letter" lays out all the steps necessary to qualify for Desert Water Agency service and is provided to developers of any project larger than an individual single-family home.
Information about plan checks, blue line print requirements, application fees and design review fees also will be provided by our Engineering Department.
