Property owners sign up for water service after completing a service application. The owner may apply in person at the Desert Water Agency office or by telephone. Service is to be in the name of the owner when the property is rented or leased.
Renters may have the water account billed directly to them for payment purposes. However, the service always remains in the name of the property owner.
Those who apply by phone will receive a 10-day grace period for water service which usually goes into effect within 24 hours. The application is mailed to the customer and must be completed and returned within the 10 days. Otherwise, service is terminated and the customer is charged a re-connection fee.
The Agency reads its meters every month, and each customer receives a bill which is due upon receipt.
Any leaks located before or at the water meter should be reported to the Agency for repair. Leaks located between the meter and the building or in the building are the responsibility of the customer. Any other leaks should be immediatly reported to the Agency.
Desert Water Agency is located at 1200 Gene Autry Trail South, between Ramon Road and East Palm Canyon Drive. The office is open Monday - Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
