Plan a Visit:

A tour of Desert Water Agency’s Operation Center can answer many questions you may have about water here in the Coachella Valley. In addition to fielding your questions, a representative will inform your group as to how we came to be, our functions, where your water supply comes from, and the key role conservation plays in our future water supply.

To assure our customers of a secure water supply, tours are limited to our Operations Center and do not include any offsite facilities. Nonetheless, we are sure participants will enjoy their informative visit.

Speakers Bureau:

Desert Water Agency has representatives available to come speak to your group regarding all aspects of water in the Coachella Valley.

Day or evening speaking engagements may be scheduled by contacting the Agency.

For Teachers:

Representatives are available to give classroom presentations regarding all water-related topics. These include: Our functions, water supply, wastewater recycling, the water cycle, and how important it is for students to practice good conservation habits. The presentations always include colorful visuals and booklets for handing out. Of course, time is allowed for question and answer sessions.

For Students:

Students are always encouraged to contact the Desert Water Agency for help with their water-related assignments or questions they may have. Courteous representatives are glad to respond to students by telephone or email, or meet with students in person at the Agency to answer questions, help them with their assignments or Science Fair projects, or provide literature.

Science Fair Workshop

Every year, Desert Water Agency conducts a Science Fair Workshop at its Operations Center. The workshop is designed to assist students with their science fair projects. During the workshop, project questions are entertained and experiment plans are presented. Basic information is also provided regarding how to produce a high quality project, along with an outline of common pitfalls.

The workshop is geared toward students of all ages, as well as teachers and parents, and is provided at no charge.

Typically, the workshop is held just before Thanksgiving. This allows students ample time to incorporate the information gathered from the workshop into their projects.

Career Day:

Desert Water Agency has representatives available to participate in career day events held at schools within its service area.

The Agency offers interesting and challenging careers to individuals once they have graduated either high school or college.

Our representatives are more than willing to discuss the qualifications necessary, along with the many advantages to choosing a career with Desert Water Agency.
